Michael Reed

Mr. Reed joined LCG as Managing Director to lead the Business Valuation division. His 15 plus years of experience in accounting, finance, and business operations provides clients with a more holistic understanding as it relates to the business. His focus is working with clients on the value impact related to pre-sale planning, capital restructuring, estate and gift tax planning, buy/sell agreements, and so forth.

Mr. Reed was previously a Manager, Global Forensics with Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP. Prior to that, Mr. Reed was a Revenue Agent for the Internal Revenue Service and has worked in the healthcare, technology, manufacturing, and construction industries in various accounting and operations capacities. While at Baker Tilly, his responsibilities included business valuations for high-net worth clients, business damages and commercial valuations, and forensic analysis; primarily in a litigation setting. Mr. Reed has experience as an expert witness and has written reports for state and federal court.

Mr. Reed is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and has credentials in Business Valuation (ABV) Entity and Intangible Valuations (CEIV), and Financial Forensics (CFF) from the AICPA. Mr. Reed is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants,  the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and is the member of record for the National Association of Government Guaranteed Lenders (NAGGL). Mr. Reed holds a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management from the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University.
